TRAVEL TIP:

When shopping for binoculars for travel, make sure that you are buying what you expect.  True binoculars include optical prisms for bright, clear magnification...otherwise they are simply "opera glasses" or a toy.  Also look for coated optics to minimize surface glare.  7 or 8 power is a reasonable power for compact binoculars...In compact binoculars, 10 power tend to be less bright and harder to steady.  Rubber eyecups are more comfortable and assist glasses wearers.
